How a lighting project runs
We start with a design walk-through, talking through how each room is used and where light is actually needed. We then plan circuits, switching positions and dimming zones, agree the fittings, and book the install once products are on site.
Typical timescales
A single room of downlights with a new switch takes around half a day. A full ground floor refresh with mixed pendants and dimmers usually runs over 2 to 3 days. Major outdoor schemes including SWA cable runs are typically 2 days.
Smart lighting options
We install Lutron, Hue, LightwaveRF and Loxone, from a simple smart dimmer per room to fully scene-controlled whole-home systems. We'll be upfront about which platform actually suits how you live.
What affects the cost
Ceiling access (joist direction, loft vs concrete), number of switching zones, type of fittings, and any plastering required after install all influence price. Fittings are usually supplied by us at trade rates but you're welcome to provide your own.
Outdoor and security lighting
External lighting needs IP-rated fittings, weatherproof cable glands and often a separate timer or PIR circuit. We design for both function (driveway, paths) and aesthetics (uplighters, soffit downlights) and keep glare and light pollution in check.
